“THREE TRENDS IN THE WORLD ECONOMY WORTH KNOWING ABOUT”, KIEF CEO
Since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, almost two years in a row, experts have been trying to determine the new normal of the international economy. One of the key platforms for discussing these and other topical issues is the Kyiv International Economic Forum, which takes place in the capital of Ukraine annually and is supported by UFuture holding. In an interview on Факти, KIEF’s CEO Yuriy Pyvovarov named three main insights from last year’s Forum:
- Significant technological progress in the fields of medtech and foodtech over the past few years.
- Significant global growth of venture capital investments in technology startups.
- Domestic markets growth. We are talking about changes in traditional value chains, as well as large-scale government programs to stimulate the development of domestic production.
"Organic crop production, telemedicine, new storage and delivery technologies – all this is attracting more and more attention and finances of investors," said Yuriy Pyvovarov.
Ukraine, which is located close to the EU and has all the necessary prerequisites for the development of production, can also take advantage of current trends.
"Slovakia once built one of Europe's largest automotive industries from scratch, created advantageous conditions for multinational companies: Volkswagen, KIA, Stellantis. I am convinced that Ukraine's potential is even higher than that of Slovakia, but conditions are needed, for example, for the development of industrial parks," said KIEF CEO.
For those who want to stay abreast of the latest trends in world development, Yuriy Pyvovarov advised continuous learning. Education is the basis for progress in the dynamic world of information, and new competencies and skills can become a major advantage in the market, he said.
The KIEF team recently launched a unique educational project, the KIEF Academy, which brings together everything necessary to develop leadership and entrepreneurship skills – enrollment continues. KIEF, meanwhile, is one of the largest international forums in Eastern Europe, bringing together business, government and society to discuss key economic issues and global trends. This year it will take place on October 6-7.
