“7 Tips On How To Motivate Yourself,” Vasyl Khmelnytsky
Motivation – words or actions that make people want to do some activity. But desires arise and disappear, said the founder of UFuture holding company Vasyl Khmelnytsky in one of the issues of his YouTube channel. How to find motivation, how to maintain, restore and rise it – further in the text.
Reach for the heart
“There are two types of motivation: external and internal. External is when the boss at work says that at the end of the year you will receive a bonus, for example, your salary will increase by 2-3 times. You will feel it materially, it will motivate you. It is much harder with internal motivation – to find it, you need to reach yourself. Reach your heart. Find the right approaches. And even if you find it, it will not be with you for long. Internal motivation must be constantly maintained,” said Vasyl Khmelnytsky.
Set only one goal
The founder of UFuture says that he started reading books when he faced problems that he could not solve. A friend gave him Steven J. Spear’s “Chasing the Rabbit”. He really liked the book, it had a lot of advice on how to set up a management system in business, how to improve processes and grow.
“I wrote 5 pages of notes, and I was sure that when I returned home from vacation, I would completely change my life. But at home, I faced my usual problems again, and again got into the routine. So my advice: choose one process, one piece of advice, one highlight that touched you, and implement it throughout the year. This will keep you motivated for a long time,” the businessman advised.
Choose one, only one goal and start with it. Do not try to solve many problems at once.
Start with the difficult
Everyone likes to start the day with easy tasks, but this approach does not work. Every morning Vasyl Khmelnytsky writes about 10 tasks for himself, chooses the most difficult ones and solves them by noon, while he still has energy and motivation. If you do not have time to solve easy problems, do not worry – they can be postponed to tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. If you move complex tasks to a day or a month, it can bring big problems.
Motivate yourself with what you like
“I run 5 kilometers twice a week, and it's not always easy for me to motivate myself. At such moments I just look for motivational videos for sports. There are many such videos on the Internet. After 3-4 minutes of watching how young people go in for sports, achieve their results, my motivation rises. I'm doing my workout. After 3-4 km the motivation starts to fall, but it doesn't matter anymore. I'll definitely finish the distance. After sports, I'm always in a good mood, I’m glad I did it. In 3-4 months the new habit will gradually become a part of your life,” explained Khmelnytsky.
The “What if” exercise
When it is very difficult to motivate yourself, imagine what will happen if you give up. And then imagine what will happen if you finish your job. You will see the benefits that you will get in 3-4 months, and maybe in a year. The few minutes you spend on this exercise motivate you again.
Don’t listen to others
The biggest danger is when you come up with a project, come up with a strategy, you are motivated and you tell your friends and relatives about it, and they say, “No, it won’t work, why do you need it, don’t do it, it won’t work”. Your motivation from such words will gradually decrease. And you think, “Maybe so, maybe I don’t need to spend time on it?”
“Remember, no one in the world wants you to succeed - except your mother, of course. Everyone else sees you as a competitor. If you succeed, go up, they will stay down. They will not like it. They will say: "Don't do anything, don't take risks, live like everyone else,” said Vasyl Khmelnytsky.
Verify
If you want to start a business, and professionals – only professionals – say that it has been launched before and did not work, I recommend once again checking your strategy, financial plan, and hiring a consultant. If you are sure that it will work – start. There will be problems along the way, you will solve them and you will become stronger. And when you succeed, all the skeptics will come to you and say, “Oh, we knew you would succeed. We believed in you.”
This is how the world works: don’t be afraid to take risks – start your own business.
“Many people think that success requires luck. But everything is much simpler: if a person is motivated, he or she is more persistent, systematic and more successful. The good news is that you can find your own motivation and support it yourself,” summed up the entrepreneur.
