Sergiy Yevtushenko: “Business and society must invest in innovative technologies and renewable energy”

Global challenges and a desire to be among global environmental leaders forced more countries are gradually phasing out the use of oil, coal, nuclear power and actively implementing development and production programs of the renewable energy.

In 2015, 197 countries of the world signed the Paris Climate Agreement, which aims to prevent the planet’s average temperature from rising to more than 2 degrees Celsius by 2100. Ukraine acceded to this agreement in 2016, and in 2018 adopted a Low Carbon Development Strategy until 2050, which envisages reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and the introduction of green technologies in all sectors of the economy.

“Business and society need to understand the importance of developing eco-consciousness and be prepared to invest in innovative technologies, green energy, pay for recycling and electricity today, so that future generations of a Ukrainians have the opportunity to live in a developed and prosperous state and not suffer from climate change and their consequences,” Sergiy Yevtushenko, said.
