{"id":6228,"date":"2020-02-06T19:41:58","date_gmt":"2020-02-06T16:41:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ufuture.com\/?p=6228"},"modified":"2020-02-06T19:41:58","modified_gmt":"2020-02-06T16:41:58","slug":"beacon-at-unit-city-is-recognized-as-one-of-the-best-lighting-projects-in-the-world","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ufuture.com\/en\/beacon-at-unit-city-is-recognized-as-one-of-the-best-lighting-projects-in-the-world\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cBeacon\u201d at UNIT.City is recognized as one of the best lighting projects in the world"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The art object \u201cBeacon\u201d, opened on the square <a href=\"https:\/\/unit.city\/en\/home\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UNIT.City Innovation Park<\/a> in October 2019, was awarded the <a href=\"https:\/\/litawards.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">LIT Lighting Design Awards<\/a> in the category of Light Art Project.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBeacon\u201d is a 60-meter factory pipe that was converted from an old chimney, a symbol of Ukrainian industrialization, to a light installation \u2014 a bright symbol of Ukraine&#8217;s future, progress and innovation. Two LED strips are installed inside the pipe, thanks to a vertical movement from the bottom to the top, which produces a powerful stream of light. Reaching the tops, a bright beam is formed, 100 meters long and 3.5 meters in diameter. A metal platform is also installed in the pipe, which houses three spotlights with halogen lamps.<\/p>\n<p>The installation is equipped with a mini-planetarium with four projectors and LED technology, and inside is the &#8220;Cinema 360&#8221;, which creates the effect of 3D space and full immersion.
